Ceremony style
Phuket Beach Weddings
A ceremony set on sand, usually late afternoon, followed by drinks and dinner nearby. The setting is the design; almost everything else is about timing, tide and shade.
Who it suits
- Couples who want the ocean in the ceremony itself rather than as a backdrop
- Groups of roughly 2–60 people
- Couples happy to plan around light and tide rather than a fixed hour
How the day is structured
- Arrival
- Guests are seated 15–20 minutes before the ceremony, usually with cold towels and water.
- Processional
- Short by design. Sand slows walking, so aisles are kept compact.
- Ceremony
- Typically 20–30 minutes, led by a celebrant in your language.
- Signing or symbolic exchange
- A symbolic register, or the legal paperwork if you have completed the district office process separately.
- Photography
- The 40 minutes after the ceremony are the strongest light of the day. Protect them.
- Drinks and dinner
- Usually held a short walk away on a terrace, lawn or restaurant deck.
Design considerations
- Arches and aisle florals read well against open horizon; small details do not.
- Wind is a design constraint. Tall, light arrangements and loose fabric need weighting.
- Bare foot ceremonies are common; provide a firm walkway for older guests.
Planning considerations
- Public beaches in Thailand are shared space. Access is generally through a property that fronts the beach, which is why most beach weddings are booked with a resort or villa.
- Ceremony time is set by sunset, not by preference. Sunset in Phuket moves roughly between 18:10 and 18:50 across the year.
- Tide affects how much usable sand exists on the day. Tide tables are checked before a time is confirmed.
- A covered alternative within a two-minute walk is part of every beach plan we build.
Investment
What a wedding in this format costs depends on the guest count, the venue and the week you marry. Rather than publish a figure that cannot be true for everyone, the investment is shown to you as you design the wedding itself.
